Workshops on Financial Management, Procurement and Communication of LCT project

Vientiane Capital, 05 Oct 2020, the Department of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce organized the workshop on Financial Management, Procurement and Communication of Lao Competitiveness and Trade (LCT) project at Crowne Plaza Hotel. The workshop was chaired by Mr. Sengphanomchone Inthasane, the Deputy Director General of the Department of Planning and Investment. More than 40 participants joined the workshops who are the representatives of implementation agencies (IAs) working at line ministries, department and divisions coordinating with the project.

The objective of the workshop is for capacity building on the finance management, procurement and communication of the IAs through the experience from the officers who are directly working on the LCT project. The presenters at the workshop disseminated the financial management process including regulations and requirement regarding financial management of the project and the auditing by external auditing firms, the budget proposals including advance payment of vehicle and asset monitoring and management, the procurement process and communication. Throughout the workshop, the participants have opportunities to ask questions regarding the topics presented in the workshop that were relevant to their roles and responsibilities in their departments and worked on budget proposal exercises in groups. The team building was organized at the end of the workshop before the closing remark from the chairman to improve communication and collaboration skills between the project members and the IAs.
