Support to the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI) within the Framework of the ASEAN Single Market and Production Base Project

The project provides support to the free flow of services in tourism and healthcare sectors, as there was an expressed need from the CLMV (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Vietnam) countries for support in this area. This is in consideration of the high relevance of these services sectors for the CLMV countries where they constitute a substantial share of the economy and are seen as important engines of growth and social prosperity

Moreover, the project will provide additional support in the area of labor mobility and TVET for tourism and nursing professionals, given that the implementation of MRAs remains limited (albeit to different degrees in the four countries). This hampers the realization of potentially positive effects of MRAs on the quality of TVET systems as well the supply of skilled labour to the tourism and healthcare sectors
